Claire is a qualified primary school teacher with over 15 years' experience. She has had the pleasure of working in nurseries, schools and colleges throughout England and Europe.

Claire founded Recreate-U after seeing children, families and schools needed support with understanding mental health. She delivered whole school professional development packages to support the implementation of a mastery approach to wellbeing and mindfulness as well as creating
numerous programmes of proven positive mental health techniques.

Claire also has a proven track record of increasing physical activity levels city-wide, and has spent years leading co-produced projects with the voluntary and community sector.

Claire specialises in working with children who have special educational needs, behavioural problems and English as an additional language. She has a passion for helping people to learn and grow.

Jennie
Director

Jennie is a qualified primary school teacher who has worked in schools both in the UK and abroad. She is fluent in French and Mandarin Chinese and has experience of successfully supporting children with EAL.

Jennie also has extensive experience working in the voluntary sector as a volunteer and as a board member, and has worked on youth exchanges in partnership with Erasmus+ before co-founding Recreate-U.

She has a background in performing arts and modern languages, and has presented craft workshops at events such as Green Gathering and Manchester’s Envirolution Festival.

In addition to Recreate-U projects, Jennie has written for parenting blog Kidadl on current and educational topics.

Betsy
Moral Support

Betsy is a passionate and loyal member of the Recreate-U team. She is a wonderful listener and really helps people to be more physically active by walking and talking. She understands when humans are upset and has techniques to calm them down and bring them back into the present. She practices mindfulness daily by watching the clouds and being at one with nature. Sometimes she likes to shout and sing to her friends - woof!
